Covid Risk for Myself

 I've been pressured to get the 'jab' by a family member.  I've resisted as I feel my risk is low despite being an older person.  I'm going to try to investigate my risk and use this blog to keep track of my sources and reactions to them.  Here is the first article by the NIH:

The important sentence in this article is this:
The infection fatality rate (IFR) is 

"1.4% at age 65, 4.6% at age 75, and 15% at age 85. "

Now what I would like to know is;  of that percentage of seniors how many of them had comorbidities?  So what is the rate of death for someone who is symptomatic covid at age 70 without any comorbidities? I would think less than half.  So off the top of my head for every 100 people age 70 who get covid without any other chronic illnesses, only 2 or 3 of them will die.  That doesn't seem too dangerous to me.

Reasons why I think that Fauci is evil or at least self serving:

1.  Never answered questions regarding as to why he was involved in funding the Wuhan lab:

2.  He continually changes his advice on mask wearing without any substantive reason as to why.

3.  He is hinting at instituting vaccine passports.

4.  He is the highest paid civil servant in the country making $400,000/year.  I think this is very compromising. 

5.  Many members of the CDC own patents for many vaccines and medicines and they are also in an advisory positions.  Isn't this a conflict of interest?

6.  He has never treated a patient.  This doesn't make him evil but maybe less competent to be giving advice as a doctor and more as a political hack.

7.  He knew about the gain of function reasearch in Wuhan possibly conducted by US scientists in a Fauci-enabled offshoring of such work after Obama banned it domestically in 2014.

No Covid Vaccine for Me

 Reasons that I won't be getting the covid vac anytime soon, (although not ruling it out entirely): #covid

1. It's investigational. Because the unapproved vaccines’ status is investigational, anyone who gets an injection (whether they realize it or not) is agreeing to participate in an ongoing experiment. 2. There's little recourse if there are serious side effects. The drug companies have no liability at all. The government agency in charge of compensation for vaccine damage has recently set the bar higher as to who qualifies. 3. The vaccine has not been shown to actually cure or prevent transmission. It basically reduces symptoms. 4. There's no proof as of yet that the protection from the vaccine is long lasting, meaning that shots may be necessary yearly similar to a flu shot. 5. I'm not entirely convinced that the virus is as dangerous as reported. I believe statistics has been skewed to make the virus look more deadly. Look at excess deaths by years lost for 2020. This is a disease that is not terribly dangerous except to the very old and compromised. 6. There is a political agenda here and politicians shouldn't be managing a pandemic. 7. There were many mistakes made in treating this virus especially in the beginning, from infecting entire facilities with infected patients, restricting various methods of treatment, over use of ventilators causing or increasing the number of deaths. 8. There is a great deal of money being made by pharmaceutical companies from their vaccinations. Very little is made using drugs that have already been approved for other uses.

9. The PCR test is not done correctly as stated by Fauci. He readily admitted that, if the PCR test for the virus is done improperly, the results are meaningless and must be thrown out. What he failed to say—and he knows this—is that the test, since the beginning, HAS BEEN DONE IMPROPERLY.  The cycle rate is set too high.

10. Fauci is not trust-worthy.  First he says masks, then no masks then 2 masks.  He says vaccine then you still need to wear masks and socially distance.  He wants covid passports.  

I do know the reasons for getting the vaccine especially those who are sick and/or elderly, health care workers or anyone who wants one. The vaccine should be available to those who want or need it. These are only my reasons. I don't think I should be restricted in my movements or socialization because I have not yet gotten the shot. I don't think I should be 'outed' for not getting one as Israel has recently done. I don't think there should be 'vaccine passports'. Everyone wants the country to be back to 'business as usual'. The numbers are now down.

New Glass Ceiling for Women's Sports

On day 1, Biden unilaterally eviscerates women's sports. Any educational institution that receives federal funding must admit biologically-male athletes to women's teams, women's scholarships, etc. A new glass ceiling was just placed over girls.

I'm against and i think you'd have difficulty finding real humans who support it. The reason that we discriminate by sex in sports is because there is a huge physical difference in ability between men and women. Denying that is denying reality.

When I was a teacher, I saw parents do really really nonsensical things to ensure their kid would do well in sports. You will see psychopaths force a sex change on kids to be "champions" in girls sports

I wouldn't let my daughter compete with trans athletes in most sports

In a slightly related issue, I don't think it's in the public interest for schools to be associated with sports in the first place

If there's an argument for public education, it's that an educated populace is necessary for democracy to work. Or that it's necessary to have an educated workforce. What does sports have to do with that.

Biden Presidency

This is a sad day for me.  I have a lot of fears regarding this presidency.  I know that a president's wish list doesn't always come to fruition.  Look at Trump's wall.  Anyway, here's my list:
* Mask mandate.  Seems unconstitutional and don't know how it would be implemented.
* More censorship.  On the plus side maybe it will open up the field to some alt-tech sites.
* Higher prices at the gas pump.  Biden wants to crack down on fossil fuel production, stop fracking and pipelines.  This will also increase the cost of food and other products due to transportation costs.
* Pledge to defeat domestic terrorism.  Will this be a way to put people who disagree with on a 'no flight list' or prohibited from owning firearms?
* Forced vaccinations via a health passport
* Ramp up of military conflicts.  Time will tell.
* Increase in illegal and legal immigration.  This is not a time to increase competition for jobs when we have so much unemployment.
* Higher taxes, higher debt and inflation the ++$$trillion budget is staggering.  Debt causes inflation and the higher prices.  Our fixed income will be worth less.

One the other hand, I think Trump is a coward for not pardoning Julian Assange and the other whistleblowers.  He pardoned many others including 2 border patrol cops who murdered an illegal who was trying to cross back to Mexico by shooting him in the back.  

Luckily I have few expenses and needs.  I can live with far less but mostly fear for my kids and grandkids who will inherit the debt.  Hopefully, we will get through this.
